Brief History of VOPE
Association Mauritanienne de Suivi et Evaluation (AMSE) was created in July 2004 in the framework to promote Monitoring and Evaluation. The Mauritanian civil society organization is non-political and non-profit. Its main missions are to:
- Promote the culture of monitoring and evaluation
- Strengthen the national capacity and in particular the organizations of SOC in M&E
- Contribute to the harmonization of standards and practices in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation
Profile OF VOPE
A Civil Society Association created in 2004 is made up of national framework specialists or practicians in Monitoring and Evaluation projects, programmers, and public policy. Its main mission is to strengthen the capacity of its members but also contribute to the strengthening of Evaluation culture within national administration with which it has excellent partnership relations. It is made up of more than a hundred members (experts in M&E). AMSE has participated in several forums organized by AfrEA (Niger and Uganda)
Activities
Since its creation, AMSE has carried out several activities including :
- A study on the diagnosis of evaluative capacities in Mauritania /DCE and midterm action plan (2009),
- Several training and/or restitution workshops on thematic of aid and effective management (2008),
- Edition of the first issue of the journal « Echos de l’AMSE, 2011
- Participation in the first International Forum of Public Policy evaluation organized in Dakar by RFE (2015), as a founding member
- Organization of the national day: 2015, International Evaluation Day March 2015,
- Participation with the DGPSD/MEF as trainers in the workshops on results-based management (RBM) carried out respectively in the Wilayas of Dahlt Nouadhibou and Brakna benefit the technical advisors and directors of the central administrations, (2016),
- The ongoing launch of the qualitative evaluation of three CLSP themes 2001-2015 (health, Education, protection, and/or social cohesion
- This activity is in progress following several focus groups carried out in three wilayas and in several moughataa of Nouakchott
- Participation on request of the CSLP/SCAPP Coordination of the MEF to the reflection on the monitoring system evaluation of the Strategy of Accelerated growth and shared prosperity/SCAPP 2016-2030 being prepared by the MEF (2016
- Focal Point of the Francophone Network for evaluation/EFR, of which it is a founding member, of the preparation of the second international Forum on Public Policy evaluation/FIFE 2, to be held on 14 and 16 December 2016 in Marrakesh (Morocco).
