BRIEF HISTORY OF VOPE

Initiative Ivoirienne pour l’Evaluation (2IEval) is an association of evaluation experts with the objective to create a network for reflection, exchanging ideas, the promotion of evaluation, and management as tools for performance assistance and implementation of projects, programs, and public policy. 2IEval is a member of the International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation(IOCE/OICE) and African Evaluation Association(AfrEA). Initiative Ivoirienne pour l’Evaluation (2IEval) is a member of the Ivorian Platform Capacity-building Institutions and the Civil Society Initiative for sustainable development objectives in Côte d’Ivoire (ISC/ODD-CI). 2IEval was set up following the constitutive General Assembly of January 2014.  

PROFILE OF VOPE

Initiative Ivoirienne pour l’Evaluation (2IEval) is an association of evaluation experts with the objective to create a network for reflection, exchanging ideas, and the promotion of evaluation and management as tools for performance assistance and implementation of projects, programs, and public policy.

ACTIVITIES

Formally established in January 2014, the Ivorian Evaluation Initiative (2IEval) conducts advocacy and capacity-building activities for the various actors from the public, government, private sector,  academia, and of civil society. The following activities were carried out: Participation in the organization of the 8th International Conference of the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA); Organization, since the year 2015, of the award of Excellence “Gold rating” rewarding each year in the field of Evaluation the best: (i) Thesis and dissertations, (ii) research work, (iii) Structures and programs, (iv) technological innovations.

The prize was the 4th edition in 2018; Conduct advocacy activities with the Ivorian Government and capacity building of emerging evaluators, within the framework of the P2P project implemented in collaboration with the VOPE SenEval and SQEP; Strengthening the capacity of doctoral students at two universities in Côte d’Ivoire; Carrying out a study on the capacity-building needs of emerging evaluators in Côte d’Ivoire; Completion of the mid-term evaluation of the Presidential program “Compendium of women’s skills of Côte d’Ivoire”

Participated in the training seminar of the USAID project “West Africa Evidence for Development project (E4D)”; Organization of the capacity building workshop for young emerging evaluators with the support of UNDP and the Ministry of Youth; Participation in a workshop organized by the African Women’s Association for Research and Development (AAWORD)”; Participation in the activities of the national team in charge of monitoring and evaluation of the project “Research action on the Measurement of learning outcomes of literacy programs (RAMAA)” initiated by the UNESCO Institute for Learning at Life (UIL) and the Ministry of Education (June 2016);

Participation in the 2nd EvalPartners World Forum in Kathmandu, Nepal; Launch of the Ivorian evaluation Portal (www.2ieval.org )signing of partnerships with social and economic research institutions (March 2014); Signature of partnership with STEval-Ee, Lomé, Togo; Participation in impact assessment training
