AfrEA pays a courtesy visit to members and partners in Cote d’Ivoire

In November 2024, AfrEA’s President, Dr. Miché Ouédraogo visited the Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation (2IEval) and other partners in Abidjan.
Dr COULIBALY Mamadou, Permanent Secretary of the Réseau Ivoirien de Suivi et d’Évaluation (RISE) and Mr. Samuel KOUAKOU, President of the Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation (2IEval) were amongst the personalities visited. They briefed the AfrEA President on the major projects underway in the field of evaluation in Côte d’Ivoire, following the adoption by the Ivorian parliament of the law on the evaluation of public policies in 2022. They also highlighted the initiatives being undertaken by these two organisations.
On his part, the President of AfrEA presented the AfrEA Strategic Plan 2024 – 2028 and highlighted AfrEA’s willingness to engage with its VOPEs to further promote evaluation on the continent.
Visit to the African Development Bank
While in Abidjan, President Miché was also received at the African Development Bank Group headquarters by Jayne Musumba, Division Manager at Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) – AfDB, and members of her team, Damase Eric Sossou and Sîm-Yassah Awilêlo Badjo. He presented to them the initiatives underway at AfrEA and the association’s new dynamic with IDEV, which remains one of AfrEA’s very important partners and fervent supporters.

Visit to the Francophone Emerging Evaluators’ Camp
The President visited participants of the 2024 Francophone Emerging Evaluators Camp organized by Institut le Baromètre where he offered words of encouragement to the emerging evaluators from 4 countries. He also shared with them the initiatives put in place by AfrEA to promote emerging evaluators.
