Courses
The content of modules will be based on AfrEA’s previous needs assessment of the VOPEs as well as AfrEA & USAID/West Africa's Evidence for Development (E4D) capacity needs assessment results. These modules would be structured like the USAID Global E-Learning centre and LINGOS Learning Courses.
AfrEA will develop the online certificate course contents tutorials through its extensive network of professional evaluators, who will be contracted at a minimal token fee to assist in the development of the course contents.
AfrEA would network with existing online certificate courses including the ones that are run by USAID partners. Examples will come from global health activities and may include: Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, Ebola, maternal child health, WASH, and Nutrition.
Learning objectives be defined for each module, to which the content and the assessments will be tied. Each module will be developed with the outline below;
• Introduction
• Objective
• Pre-assessment
• Course content
• Summary
• Assessment
• Certificate
The modules will be self-pacing, and will allow users to be able to stop and resume the course from where it was stopped, if not completed in one sitting. Certification will be automatic after 80% pass mark has been achieved after the assessment.
All modules will be developed in English translated into French and subject to approval before being uploaded and finalized. Based on past discussions with the AfrEA & USAID/West Africa's Evidence for Development (E4D) team, AfrEA proposes the following topics:
