[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Board of the African Evaluation Association gladly announces its call for bursaries for the 9th AfrEA International Conference. Limited bursaries are available to all strands and in specific strands, according to the criteria described below.

General Eligibility criteria

  1.  Applicant should be a member of AfrEA or a national VOPE in good standing.
  2. Applicant should have an accepted abstract related to the topic under which s/he is applying for the bursary.

1. Strand 1- Improving Agriculture and Food Security through Evaluation

Participants should meet the following criteria:

  •  Have extensive experience in evaluation of Agriculture and Food Security programmes

2. Strand 4- Ensuring Good Health and well-being: New Approaches and methods in Evaluation

  • General eligibility criteria apply

3. Strand 5- The Role of the Judiciary, Executive and Legislature in Evaluation: Responsive national evaluation systems: What are potential mechanisms for strengthening synergies between different actors within a national evaluation system?

Participants should meet the following criteria:

  • Should work with the national or provincial Judiciary, Executive and legislative body in his/her country of origin.
  •  Government Employees who are not AfrEA members are eligible.

4. Strand 6- Climate change interventions: the Use of Evaluative Evidence for Sustainable Development.

5. Strand 8- Facilitating Professional Pathways for Young and Emerging Evaluators and Improving Youth Outcomes.

Participants should meet the following criteria:

  • Should be a young and emerging evaluator (under age 35) from the African continent at the time of application. (Must indicate if you are under age 35)
  •  Works in any discipline or sector across the evaluation field.
  • Answer the following questions in your application
    • Tell us a bit about yourself and your work in evaluation? (Max 250 words)
    • How do you expect this opportunity to enhance your work in evaluation in your home country? (max 250 words)

6. Strand 9- The role of capacity development in strengthening the evaluation ecosystem.

  •  General eligibility criteria apply

  • Workshop and conference fees
  • Return economy airfares
  • Accommodation for the duration of the conference
  • Transportation
